Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, Non Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, and National Association of Academic Technologist, NAAT – TO End Strike on Thursday or Friday
Full activities could shortly resume in Nigerian universities across the country because the non-teaching workers presently on strike have accepted the Federal Government’s proposal aimed toward addressing their grievances.

Officials of the unions –Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, Non Academic Staff Union of Universities, NASU, and National Association of Academic Technologist, NAAT – told PREMIUM TIMES off the record that the strike may well be suspended on Thursday or Friday.
The National President of the Joint Action Committee of the unions, Samson Ugwoke, spoke when the second open negotiation meeting with representatives of the govt..

The unions also are requesting associate degree improvement within the teaching and learning facilities within the universities; stemming the tide of corruption within the university system and ”showing of commitment within the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/University unions Agreements.”
On the problem of inadequate infrastructure raised by the union, Mr. Ngige aforesaid a seven-member committee are discovered to handle the matter promising that the university system are rejuvenated.
On that of endemic corruption within the universities, he aforesaid the govt. would make sure that the Internally Generated Revenue from universities square measure place to most use.
