The recent visit of assessment team from Federal University of Technology Minna (FUT MINNA) for the proposed B.Tech / B.ENG Programmes turned out positive with huge effort and commitment of the Federal Polytechnic Offa Management.
Following the request received by the University from the Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State to run selected B.Tech /B.Eng Programmes, the vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna through the Directorate for collaborations, Affiliations and Linkages setup a resource Assessment Team to visit Polytechnic with ehe following as members

The team visited ten (10) Department across faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Engineering. Other unit covered includes The Federal Polytechnic Library at Mini Campus. The assessment was based on eight (8) criteria inline with National University Commission guidelines. The team leader Prof. Emmanuel E. Udensi and his members visited the Federal Polytechnic Offa on Tuesday 15th 2017 to Thursday 17th August 2017. At the end of resource visit, the team made some observations and recommendations for the Polytechnic Offa.
The team based their observations on staffing; department requirement for all the lecturers that will teach the degree programme must have a minimum of First and Second Degree in relevant areas
Secondly, observed all facilities across selected department and discovered adequate lecture rooms, laboratories, and workshops to Mont the programme.
The team considered the Polytechnic environment fair clean and confirmed the office accommodation of all staff to be adequate. The Technologist in every department exercise high level of professionalism by introducing available equipment to visiting team and carry out test on all equipment. The resource team admitted that all equipment testing were upto date and fit in for the proposed B.Tech / B. Eng programmes.
The visiting team ranked all chief Lecturer in The Polytechnic System as equivalent to senior lecturers in the University inline with NUC guidelines. Further recommendations/remarks stated that;
The Polytechnic will need to create a Directorate of Degree Programmeds to oversea the proposed B.Tech/B. Eng. Programmed. The Directorate of the Degree Programmes will be removed from the administrative of the Departments. The Directorate should be headed by a qualified Chief Lecturers with PhD.
Moreso, all Departments will need two (2) visiting lecturers at professorial cadre to mount the programme. The Visiting Professor in Biochemistry should be Biochemistry biased and not Chemistry. This also applies to the Department of Microbiology.
The team further recommend school library to have relevant e-materials with Computer Network Systems. clearly stated in their report that all selected department required two (2) visiting professors since there is no professorial cadre in the polytechnic systems. The team classified all instructors and Technologies as technical staff required to man all laboratories and workshops for the proposed B.Tech/B.Eng programmes.
The team emphasized more on the general improvement on cleanliness of the environment and proper documentation of staff files.
The emphases laid on Science and Laboratory Technology posses that the Department of SLT should be split into three departments namely Biochemistry, Microbiology an Physic/Electronics for affiliate programmes inline with Federal Univerity of Technology Minna programmes.
Other observations include additional utility/facilities such as air-conditioners, Public address systems and projectors for the lecture theaters. The Polytechnic Management should continue on the regular check and upgrade of White-Boards and markers in the lecture rooms, theaters and laboratories. Office furnitures for the academics staff offices should be of high priory and should be generally improved.
