FEDPOFFA ITF Vs SIWES PROGRAM:

SIWES is a compulsory course unit for all tertiary Institutions in Nigeria. The Universities SIWES Time-Frame is six month while Polytechnics and Colleges of Education slated for 4 Month (16 weeks) according to SIWES brochure. 36 sub-regions Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Offices exist in 36 States in Nigeria and the all institutions has representative that pilot ITF aims and objectives.
The Federal Polytechnic Offa SIWES students begin SIWES program immediately after expiration of 2015/2016 academic session, which implies that the 16 weeks SIWES program will end by January 6th 2016 which marked the expected returning date back to campus.
The First Question to Ask is next line of actions on return? what Next at the end of SIWES program? SIWES students is expected to return with already stamped/ signed log book along with assessment form which to me submitted to SIWES Coordinators on campus.
What Document required Sign/Stamp?
1. SIWES students should ensure he/she signed/stamp Log book with their Industrial supervisors ie. Their training master at there respective Industries.
2. SIWES Students is expected to signed with dates with their visiting supervisors according to ITF guidelines on Log books and assessment form. N.B: Visiting supervisors were staffs from Fedpoffa (Lectures, Instructor/Technologist ) that pay visit to your training site.
3. SIWES Student is expected to develop technical report based on training he/she received and submit to their SIWES Coordinator at their various Department
SIWES coordinator present ITF at departmental level while IFT Officer exist at head Office on campus. Regional ITF exist in all States while Controller General located at Head Office in Lagos/Abuja respective.
ITF Access Level: Student has direct access to ITF officer at their respective department, where they expected to receive vital information about submission of ITF form and log books inline with ITF guideline.
Action AT ITF Fedpoffa Unit Head: SIWES students is expected to submit their assessment form to Unit Head at Fepoffa or SIWES Coordinator at their respective departmental or vise-visa.

HOW TO GET PAID:
Payment is via direct deposit according to ITF guideline.
WHEN ARE WE RECEIVING PAY: Currently SIWES for F14/F15 not on schedule now since they have not completed their SIW Program therefore; F13 is on pay roll valid till Fed 2017.
WHEN ARE WE SUBMITTING OUR TECHNICAL REPORT?
From January 7th 2017 onward till submission dead line.
WHEN ARE WE DEFENDING OUR SIWES
SIWES Defense will be schedule according to SIWES Coordinator in collaboration with head of department on between January 2017.
In Conclusion: SIWES Payment modalities in not the-same across in all Tertiary Institutions since the commencement of SIWES and
termination does not follow same time frame. For Example If Kwara Polytechnic SWIES begin SIWES in July 2014 and Fedpoffa SIWES Being in August 2014, The ITF will receive different dates from different Institutions. If the process is not follow same batch process, there will be width gaps in term of payment delay.
