PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT, STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OFFA KWARA STATE

As a true ambassador and chief servant in the above named capacity, permit me to use this singular honour to welcome my fellow Nigeria students in this citadel of learning back to campus for our second semester. It is note worthy to inform the general public that we are committed to the betterment of our great citadel alongside with the well being of all students irrespective of their race, colour or religious background.
When things fall apart the center will seize to hold which might result to pandemonium and people will start running back and forth. This phrase directly has to do with the security situation of Offa community. It is visible to the blind that security situations of the community is not smiling at all. It is on this note that we want to urge all students under this great citadel to be more security conscious as we are resuming back to school.
- Endeavour to know the set of people you move with.
-Always ensure you dress properly to avoid being implicated or misplaced with what you know nothing about. '' The way you dress is the way you will be addressed.
-Also ensure you move around with any valid means of identification (Valid School ID preferably) any time you are not at your personal residence.
-Another important part of this message is to avoid walking around late at night. If need be for you to leave your home late in the night, ensure that someone either your friend or your neighbours knows about your movement. I want to pray that non of us will be a victim of ugly occurrence.
Lastly, it is important to make some clarifications so as to change our perspectives to life. We resumed office in the midst of various challenges clamouring for immediate solution. The issue of security of lives and properties of the students within and outside the campus is one of the major problems we met on ground. Oppression and victimization is beyond human imagination. We took up the challenge like the proverbial David who face his Goliath head on by putting the necessary forces in place and we were able to bring this situationa and impediments to minimal if not totally eradicated. Another part of the challenge then was the issue of stress in transporting to the permanent site. We were able to dialogue with the appropriate quarters to ensure that the stress is reduced to a bearable point. Stable and uninterupted academic calendar is one of our watch word and we had lived and will surely hold forth on it. We were able to achieve this through the cordial relationship with all concern stake holders in the school (ASUP, SSANIP, NASU). We also appreciate the maturity displayed from all students because you were all standing by us through this trying period. Your maturity is an evidence that you are indeed great students of our dear school and catalyst to a better Nigeria. We still want to assure all and sundry that we shall never take NO for answer because impossibility is not in our dictionary and we will never relent in building strong trust where the interest of all Nigeria students will be protected. We want to appeal to all students to remain law abiding so as to deliver all of our campaign promises. It is important to remind ourselves that the only panacea to a better Nigeria is for all youth to arise and see ourselves as future leaders.
Once again on behalf of my entire executive and cabinet members (Senate and Judiciary) I welcome you to the fastest and best Polytechnic in Nigeria.
Long live Fedpoffa!
Long live offa community!!
Long live Kwara state!!!
Long live Federal republic of Nigeria!!!!
Signed
